GDI has been a proud partner of Centraide of Greater Montreal (United Way) since 2009. Through our annual campaigns we have raised nearly $900,000 to benefit Centraide.
In 2018, GDI became a partner of OutRight Action International, the only US-based 2SLGBTQI+ human rights organization with a permanent presence at the UN. GDI is committed to helping raise funds for and awareness of OutRight Action International’s work researching, documenting, defending, and advancing human rights for LGBTIQ+ people around the world.
GDI forged a partnership in 2019 with One Tree Planted to foster the richness of our local biodiversity. Since then, GDI has raised $700,000, which enabled the planting of approximately half a million trees. Our teams also dedicate a day each year to planting indigenous trees and shrubs.
Since 1988, GDI has raised close to $1 million for the Cure Foundation through the annual “Denim for a Cure” campaign. In the fight against breast cancer, CURE invests in programs for prevention and early detection, cutting-edge research to improve treatment, and a range of support services for patients and their families.
GDI supports the empowerment chapter of the Canadian Women’s Foundation, which funds life-changing programs designed exclusively for women. One such initiative is the Economic Development program, which helps lift women and their children out of poverty.
GDI launched a fundraiser in early 2022 to benefit the Canadian Red Cross’s Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal and committed to matching donations, up to $100,000.
GDI donates clothing, winter garments, and more to local organizations that support citizens in need, including Dans la rue, Durham Youth Services, Fondation filles d’action/Girls Action Foundation, Carrefour Montrose, Camp familial Saint-Urbain, Maison de la famille de Saint-Léonard, Regroupement Partage and Moisson Montréal.
GDI is pleased to support emerging talent by sponsoring various school and career events, as well as by offering awards and bursaries for students and graduates.
